Today we officially moved the title and registration over to Chevy. We've also done a good bit of work in the last 2 months that I haven't logged, so I'll make a note of it here.

The original petcock with its fuel cutoff valve is gone. It was leaking and didn't work worth a damn. We took one of the three petcocks I had for my Magna and screwed it on- perfect fit!

carbs! 115 mains, 40 slows. The old jets were WASTED. I don't know how the bike even ran with those jets.

We decided to cut the pipes into shorties. They're way short! like JUST past the H-pipe short. It sounds a LOT better than the drilled-out mufflers and it straight-up MEAN when it's decelerating.

Chevy got creative on the performance cones... Since nobody sells motorcycle performance cones for anything as small as the rebel, we either had to fabricate something ourselves or find something "close enough" to fit. He found some copper pipe reducer fittings that reduced the pipe diameter from 1.3" to an effective 1". They've been stuck up in the top of the pipes. We'll be tinkering with them until we figure out how far down the pipe they need to go.

Since we cut the pipes prior to the old mounting bracket that held them up, Chev figured that we should put some nice looking extensions on and we-mount the pipes to something. We're still working on this, but it should be done soon.

We pulled the tank dent using the As-Seen-On-TV Ding King. For round, even, shallow dents (like knees on the side of a tank) it works like a dream! It takes a very close inspection to tell that there was ever any hint of a dent there.

We did a little fork polishing with the wire wheel and some sandpaper. Those oxidized forks actually look like metal again! They're definitely not show pieces but they're at least respectable looking now.

Yeah, we've managed to do a lot of work without realizing it... But there's still more to do. Now that the "performance cones" are in, we need to resync the carbs and tune the slow jets. Still need to get proper air filters too.
