So I unbolted the exhaust and remounted it. I quickly found my problem! The
'shim' or 'spacer' or whatever it is that wraps around the exhaust near the
engine, and is pushed towards the engine by the mounting piece, was a little
off on alignment on the right side. I got everything loosely into place and
nudged it with a screwdriver to straighten it out. Everything bolted down
nicely, and no more exhaust leak!
To make sure all was fine, I took the bike out for a spin. My high-RPM vibrations almost completely went away! I also feel significantly more power than I felt before. The bike accelerated through all 6 gears much easier than it did before. It's nice to be pleasantly surprised by results! |
